Power
Bagasse is often used as a primary source of fuel in sugar mills. It is used as a biofuel for the production of heat, energy and electricity. It is usually combusted in furnaces to produce steam for power generation. This process of co-generation facilitates the production of two forms of energy – electricity and heat. The electricity and heat obtained from sugarcane bagasse offer renewable energy that promotes sustainable development.
BCML believes that green strategies are necessary for industrial operation and are a catalyst for innovation. The Company has a co-generation capacity of 278.47 megawatts(Saleable co-generation capacity of 168.70 MW).
